Gainesville/Hall Co. participates in National Night Out

GAINESVILLE - Gainesville and Hall County residents joined forces with thousands of communities nationwide Tuesday evening for the "26th Annual National Night Out" crime and drug prevention event.

Billy Hendrix with Memorial Park Funeral Homes helped organize the evening's festivities.

"Basically it's to create a partnership between the community and law enforcement to take a stand against crime," said Hendrix.

He said area law enforcement, fire departments, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and Safe Kids Gainesville/Hall County were among the agencies participating in this year's event held at Memorial Park North Riverside Funeral Home.

Participants were able to view and explore a Georgia State Patrol helicopter, air ambulance and other emergency vehicles that were on display in the parking lot alongside free food and entertainment.
