Mrs. Evelyn Irene Church Saxon, 94

Mrs. Evelyn Irene Church Saxon, 94, of Gainesville, GA went to her heavenly home on Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at Ashton Senior Living Center following an extended illness.

Funeral services will be Saturday, July 14, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with Rev. Grady White, Rev. William Gee, and Rev. Danny Hart officiating. Interment will follow in Springway Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, July 13th from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

Born on October 7, 1923 in Gainesville she was the daughter of the late Renzo Church and Janie White Church.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Evelyn is preceded in death by her husband of 44 years Methel J Saxon, infant son and daughter Linda Ann Saxon Arrowood. Mrs. Evelyn was retired from the Hall County School System. She was of the Baptist faith and a very devout Christian and a member of Morningside Baptist Church where she served faithfully as Sunday school teacher for years.

Mrs. Evelyn is survived by her son in law, Frankie Arrowood; cousin and best friend, Alma Clark; cousins, Ralph Williamson, Frank White, Rev. Grady White, Stanley White along with numerous other relatives and friends.

The family would like to Thank Ashton Senior Living Center and Homestead Hospice for their love, compassion and care of Mrs. Evelyn. We love and appreciate every single one of you for all you have done. Please know that she loved each and every one of you and her greatest wish for all of you is for you to remember “He walks with you”.

I am so sorry to hear of Evelyn's passing. She worked with my mom at Johnson High School and she was a kind and beautiful person.
