Mr. John Charles Head, 65

Mr. John Charles Head, “Johnny” passed away following a brief illness at his home on Saturday, December 2, 2017 in Gainesville, GA at the age of 65.

Johnny is survived by his wife, Kendra Head, of Gainesville; daughter and son in law, Jamie and Michael Murphy, of Gainesville; granddaughter “the light of his life,” Ciera Murphy, of Gainesville; Janice Head, the mother of his daughter; and special pets, Sparky, Fred the frog and Bob the beta fish.

Johnny was born on November 25, 1952 in Gainesville, GA to Claude and Johnette Head. He graduated from East Hall High School. He joined the military in 1971, and served in the Army National Guard for twenty years. He worked for Gainesville Paint and Decorating for twenty six years and Atlanta Coffee and Vending for ten years before retiring in 2008. He spent his retirement years travelling throughout the United States. Johnny was a huge Georgia Tech fan, THWG!

Johnny was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, Wayne Head, Ronnie Head, Tommy Head, Tony Head, and Marty Head all of Gainesville.

Johnny was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church.

A funeral is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Monday, December 4, 2017 with the Rev. Stan Lee and Chaplain Matlin LaForce officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, December 3, 2017 from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. and on Monday, December 4, 2017 from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Johnny’s life.
The family would like to give a special thanks to all of Johnny’s neighbors for their love, prayers, and support during this difficult time.
