Mrs. Irene E. McGee, 98

Mrs. Irene E. McGee, age 98, of Flowery Branch passed away, Thursday, May 3, 2012 at Peachtree Plantation.

Graveside Services will be 2:30 p.m., Friday, May 4, 2012 at Redwine United Methodist Church Cemetery. Rev. Dave Channell will officiate. The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m., Friday, May 4, 2012 at Memorial Park South Funeral Home.

Mrs. McGee was born February 27, 1914 to the late Guy & Cleo Emmett of Jefferson, Georgia. She was a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church and was employed at Chicopee Manufacturers for 35 years. Mrs. McGee is also preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Howard B. McGee; brother. Harold Emmett; and sister, Clara Mae Cagle.

Survivors include: sons & daughters-in-law, Glenn H. (Stumpy) & Pat McGee of Perry and Micky A. & Katherine McGee of Lula; daughter, Peggy M. Turk of Oakwood; 7 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; 6 great great-grandchildren; and several nieces & nephews. A very special "thank you" for her caregivers at Peachtree Plantation and Odyssey Hospice.
