            Mrs. Viola Lee Evans Parrish, age 91, of Gainesville, Georgia, passed away Sunday, May 13, 2012 at Morningside Assisted Living Center following an extended illness.

            Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 pm Tuesday, May 15, 2012 at Memorial Park North Riverside Chapel with entombment to follow in Memorial Park Mausoleum. Dr. Tom Smiley and Dr. Jerry Gill will officiate. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Monday, May 14, 2012 at the funeral home.

            Mrs. Parrish was born on February 10, 1921 in Reidsville, NC, to the late Floyd William Evans and Edna Mae Lipford Evans, but had lived in Gainesville for a number of years. She was a homemaker who devoted her life to loving her husband, raising her three sons and providing wonderful lasting memories for her grandchildren. Mrs. Parrish was a charter member of Lakewood Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cleo Nathan Parrish, her son and daughter-in-law, Larry Gene and Debbie Parrish, and brothers, Edward and Harold Evans.

            Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Wayne and Shirley Parrish of Gainesville; Roger and Joyce Parrish of Gainesville; grandchildren, Bob and Amy Parrish of Athens; Donna and Barry Elder of Athens; Wayne and Candace Parrish, Don and Jennifer Parrish, Stephanie and Kevin brown, Jay and Katie Parrish, Matthew and Heather Wilbanks and Jennifer Wilbanks all of Gainesville; Renee Parrish Strickland of Cleveland and fifteen great-grandchildren. Survivors also include her brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Gerry Evans and her sister-in-law, Irene Evans, all of Reidsville, NC.
