Mrs. Gladys M. Smith, 86

Mrs. Gladys M. Smith, age 86 of Gainesville, passed away Saturday, June 02, 2012 at her residence following an extended illness.

            Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday, June 5, 2012 at 2:00pm at Christian Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Kenneth Pilcher and Rev. Bill Trotter officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday, June 3, 2012 from 6:00pm-9:00pm and all day Monday at the funeral home.

            Mrs. Smith was born October 7, 1925 in Gastonia, NC to the late Maggie Matthews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lamar Smith and was a member of Christian Hill Baptist Church.

            Mrs. Smith is survived by her daughter, Judy Shoematte Skywork of Gainesville; sons, Edwin “Cotter” Shoemake, Robert Shoemake, Mike Shoemake and Timothy Anthony Shoemake all of Gainesville, son, Rex Shoemake of Cleveland, GA; 13 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-granchild.
