Mr. Peter Emanuel Brady, 82

Peter Emanuel Brady, 82 of Gainesville, GA passed away in his home early Sunday, July 22, 2012.

 He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Ane, his sister, Patricia Faucher, and his 3 children, Peter Scott Brady, Kim Kepner, and Jeff Brady as well as 7 grandchildren. 

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, July 28, 2012 at Memorial Park North Riverside Chapel.

He was born in Manchester, NH to Emanuel Peter Brady and Frances Ella Brady on September 16, 1929.  He followed in his father’s footsteps with his love of the great outdoors as well as his career in the shoe business. He learned the shoe trade and managed Gambitt Shoes in the Lowell, MA area.  He moved to Atlanta in 1972 as a top executive in the Butler Shoe Company.  He travelled the world in the pursuit of fashion and top designs in women’s shoes.  He retired from Maine Woods shoes in 1998 to the Gainesville, GA area to pursue his love of Striper fishing. He was known for his Labrador fishing buddy companions, Bo and Buck, who joined in all the fishing trips. He shared his love of the great outdoors with his children and built many strong memories of time spent camping, hunting, and fishing. He was a member of Blackshear Place Baptist Church and enjoyed Homer Myer’s Sunday school classes.

. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Peter’s name to the local Humane Society of Hall County at 845 West Ridge Road Gainesville, Georgia 30501 or the South Eastern Guide Dog Service for the Blind 4210 77^th Street East Palmetto, Florida 34221.
