Mr. Spencer Obe Dye, 25

            Mr. Spencer Obe Dye, age 25, of Gainesville, Georgia, passed away Monday, August 6, 2012, as a result of a drowning accident.

            Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 am Thursday, August 09, 2012 at Lakewood Baptist Church. The Reverend Robert Puckett  will officiate. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 pm Wednesday, August 08, 2012 at the funeral home. Interment will be in Alta Vista Cemetery.

            Spencer was a native of Gainesville and a member of Lakewood Baptist Church and also attended Gainesville First UMC. He was a graduate of Gainesville High School.

            Spencer is survived by his father, David Dye; mother and step-father, Sharon Roper and Walter Hope; brother and sister-in-law, Russell and Pamela Dye; niece, Madilyn Dye; step-sister, Catherine Hope; all of Gainesville; step-brother, Braxton Hope of Thomasville, GA; grandmother, Toby Bowdich of Gainesville; great-aunt, Celestia Loden of Athens; uncle and aunt Bruce and Janet Roper of Gainesville; aunt and uncle Patti & Ciaran Brennan; and uncle and aunt, Steve and Barbara Dye all of Atlanta; step-grandfather, Everett Hope of Gainesville; cousins, Kelly Dye of Atlanta; Allison Dye of Atlanta; Christine Brennan of Atlanta; Lee Roper of Stockbridge, GA; Will and Marti Roper, Alexandria, VA; best friend, Bryan Williams of Gainesville.

            In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to the Humane Society of Hall County 845 West Ridge Road Gainesville, Georgia 30501.
