Mrs. Kate Faucett Hollifield, 87

            Kate Faucett Hollifield, age 87 of New Holland, passed away on Sunday, February 7, 2010 at Gateway Nursing Home following an extended illness.

            Funeral services are scheduled Tuesday, February 9, 2010 at 3:30 pm in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with interment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.  Reverend Jon Beck will officiate.  The family will receive friends on Monday, February 8, 2010 from 6 – 9 pm at the funeral home. 

            Mrs. Hollifield was born August 30, 1922 in Hall County, Georgia to the late Ben Faucett and Augusta Parrish Faucett.  Kate was retired from Chicopee Manufacturing and was a member of New Holland Baptist Church.   She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, William “Coot” Hollifield, her sister, Irene Carter and her brother, Paul Faucett. 

            Mrs. Hollifield is survived by her sons, Ellwyn Hollifield of Clermont and Barry Hollifield of Dahlonega, granddaughters, Kris Dawson of Cleveland and Candice Hollifield of Dahlonega, grandsons, Danield Hollifield of Dahlonega and Dylan Hollifield of Gainesville, great-grandsons, Jordan Dawson and Grant Sarbon both of Cleveland, great-granddaughter, Mackensie Dawson of Cleveland, sister, Beulah Harrison of Loganville, and brothers, Royal Faucett of Jonesboro and J. B. Faucett of Warner Robins.

Memorial Park Funeral Home, 2030 Memorial Park Road, Gainesville, GA  30504 is in charge of arrangements.
