Mr. Billy Ray Mabry, 76

            Billy Ray Mabry, age 76, of Gainesville, Georgia, passed away Monday, February 22, 2010 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following an brief illness.

            Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday, February 24, 2010 at 2:00 pm­ in the chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home North-Riverside Chapel, with interment to follow in the Alta Vista Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday, February 23, 2010 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm and from 6:00 to 8:00 pm.

            Mr. Mabry was born August 24, 1933 to the late Winfred and Verdelle Mabry in Gainesville, Georgia. 1953 Riverbend High School Graduate. He retired from the United States Navy after serving 22 years. He was aboard aircraft carriers as an ordinance specialist. He served at Jacksonville NAS, Cecil Field, Mayport, and Brunswick, Maine. Mr. Mabry was a member of The American Legion Paul E. Boling Post 7, Forty & Eight, and The Fleet Reserve.

            Mr. Mabry is survived by his loving wife Carole Mabry of Gainesville, daughter and son-law, Tammy and Mike Snelling of Gaineville, son and daughter-in-law, Tracy and Megan Mabry of Gainesville, grandchildren, Elizabeth Snelling, Ryan Snelling, Luke Snelling, Mattalyn Mabry, and Molly Mabry all of Gainesville, sister-in-law, MariDelle Wilbanks of Grantville, Georgia, and a host of nieces and nephews.
