            George Harold “PA” Wiley, age 80, of Gainesville, Georgia, passed away Tuesday, March 2, 2010 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center. Mr. Wiley was retired from General Motors in Doraville. He was an avid golfer, special friend, and Honorary Night Chief of the City of Gainesville Fire Department. He was a loyal patron of Longstreet Café.

            Mr. Wiley was born on July 23, 1929 and was a lifelong resident of Gainesville. He was preceded in death by his parents; Grover C. and Daisy Hudgins Wiley, his infant son; Ronald Gary Wiley and brother; Curtis Wiley.

            He is survived by his wonderful wife of 62 years; Janet Smallwood Wiley, son and daughter-in-law; Mike and Kathy Wiley, son and daughter-in-law; Wayne and Tammy Wiley, daughter and son-in-law; Jan and James Gilbert, daughter and son-in-law; Sandi and Scott Walker, grandchildren; Steven and Joyce Wiley, Stephanie and David Edmondson, Tina and Chris Kelley, Kristopher and Kayla Gilbert, Alex Walker, Tyler Wiley, and Mark Radcliffe, great-grandchildren; Noah, Reagan, Jacey, and Jake.

            Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, March 5, 2010 at1:00 pm in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home North-Riverside Chapel. Reverend David Edmondson will officiate. Interment will follow in the Dewberry No. 2 Baptist Church Cemetery. City of Gainesville Firefighters will serve as Pallbearers. The family will receive friends Wednesday, March 3, 2010 and Thursday, March 4, 2010 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the funeral home.

            In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2565 Thompson Bridge Road, Gainesville, GA 30501, or to the American Lung Association, 1301 Pennsylvania Ave. NW, Washington, DC 20004.
