Cynthia C. Banks, age 77 of Gainesville, passed away on Monday, March 8, 2010 at her residence following an extended illness.
Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, March 11, 2010 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home. Reverend Drewery Loggins will officiate in Gainesville for the service here. Reverend Elden Moore will officiate in Maryville for the service there. Interment will be in Maryville, Tennessee in Grandview Cemetery at 2:00 pm on Friday, March 12, 2010. The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 11, 2010 from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm at Memorial Park Funeral Home.
Mrs. Banks was born September 1, 1932 in Maryville, Tennessee to the late Trigg Preston Campbell and Inez Brooks Campbell. Cynthia was a retired self-employed bookkeeper and a member of Blackshear Place Baptist Church. Cynthia and her husband, Warren Banks, opened and operated Memorial Park Funeral Home in May of 1990. She also served on the Advisory Board of Gainesville District Salvation Army and was active in the local Aid More Elks Club Auxiliary. Cynthia also held several offices in the American Business Women’s Association.
Mrs. Banks is survived by her husband, Warren Banks of Gainesville, son & daughter-in-law, Charles & Gwen Banks of Maryville, Tennessee, daughter, Linda Edmunds of Knoxville, grandchildren, Wendy, Preston, Scott, Matthew and Charles Warren, great-grandson, Keaton, sister & brother-in-law, Suzanne & Silas McCaslin of Savannah, Georgia, sister-in-law, Willa Spears and several nieces & nephews.
