            James “Mack” Pierce, age 90, of Kanaday Road, Murrayville, passed away Wednesday, March 10, 2010 at his residence, under the care of Hospice of Northeast Georgia, following an extended illness.

            Funeral service is scheduled for Sunday, March 14, 2010 at 6:00 pm in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home North-Riverside Chapel, with interment to follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery. Reverend Chris Hart will officiate. The family will receive friends Sunday, March 14, 2010 4:00 to 6:00 pm at the funeral home.

            Mr. Pierce was born in Hall County to the late Isabell Pierce. James graduated from Oakwood High School in 1940, entered US Army Air Corp in 1941, served in the South Pacific during World War II. He retired as a Master Sargent with the United States Air Force 29 February 1972. Mr. Pierce is preceded in death by his wife, June Pierce.

            Mr. Pierce is survived by his daughter and son-in-law; Carol and Johnnie Bazzell of Murrayville, son; Gerald Pierce of Michigan, grandchildren; Kelley and Curtis Loggins, Jeff and Brittany Bazzell, Lacey Bazzell, great grandchildren; Peyton, Madison, Trey, Ciara, Thayer, and Brayden, and an extended family and friends.

            In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Northeast Georgia Medical Center Fund, 2150 Limestone Pkwy., Suite 115, Gainesville, Georgia, 30501-2567.

 

Memorial Park Funeral Home North-Riverside Chapel, 989 Riverside Drive, Gainesville, GA 30501 is in charge of arrangements.
