Mrs. LaVaughn Harris Murphy, 70

            LaVaughn Harris Murphy, age 70 of Gainesville, passed away on Sunday, March 14, 2010 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following a brief illness.

            Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday, March 17, 2010 at 2:00 pm at Victory Baptist Church with interment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.  Reverend Scott Waters will officiate.  The family will receive friends on Monday, March 15, 2010 and Tuesday, March 16, 2010 from 7 – 9 pm at the funeral home.

            Mrs. Murphy was born April 8, 1939 in Gainesville, Georgia to the late David Harris and Nezzie Epps Harris.  She owned and operated Quick Stop Grocery Store and was of the Baptist Faith.  LaVaughn was preceded in death by her parents, and her son, Roger Murphy.

            Mrs. Murphy is survived by her husband, Grady Murphy of Gainesville, her daughter, Glenda Crymes of Gainesville, her son, Lamar Murphy of Franklin County, grandchildren, Christopher & Carmen Hunter , Levi & Wesley Wright, and C.J. & Sydney Murphy, great-grandchild, MaKayla Hunter, brother, Samuel Harris of Gainesville, Marlene Thomas of Gainesville.
