Sandra Gail (Foster) Byrd

Mrs. Sandra Gail (Foster) Byrd, age 62, of Gainesville, Georgia.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 8:00 pm Friday, April 12, 2024 at Memorial Park Riverside Chapel. Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, April 13, 2024 in the Chapel of First Baptist Church of Gainesville.

Sandra was born June 11, 1961 in Hiawassee, Georgia. A native of Towns County, she is the daughter of the late Willis Foster and Ola (Taylor) Foster.

She was a valedictorian graduate of Towns County High School and also graduated college with an Associate Degree in Science from Young Harris College. Sandra was a devout Christian throughout her life as she showed her devotion to Christ in service to him. She served as a youth director and youth choir director at Lower Hightower Baptist Church during her college years. She was also the part-time pianist for them and the church. She then was an active member of Bible Baptist Church of Gainesville for over 20 years, McEver Road Baptist Church for 3 years and from 2005 to the present with First Baptist Church in Gainesville. She a member of the choir and participated in the Living Christmas Tree at the church since 2001. Sandra loved and dedicated her life to raising her family.

Sandra is survived by her loving husband, Gene Byrd; daughters and sons-in-law, Rebekah and Chandler DeLoach; Brittany and Alex Crowe; grandchildren, Kamden, Hudson, Abigail, Steve and Walker; sister, Glenda Barrett and brother, Gary Foster; and a number of other family and friends also survive.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to First Baptist Church Sanctuary Choir Fund, 751 Green Street, Gainesville, Georgia 30501.
