Smokey Rogers Obituary
Mr. Smokey Rogers, age 84 of Gainesville, passed away on Tuesday, March 19, 2024.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, April 1, 2024 at Memorial Park Riverside Chapel with Rev. Shane Maynard officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M. prior to the service at Memorial Park Riverside Chapel. Private family inurnment will follow at a later date.
Mr. Rogers was born April 10, 1939 to the late Dewy G. & Mamie Hulsey Rogers in Clermont, Georgia. A veteran of the United States Army, he went on to retire after 30 years with General Motors.
He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Joanie Rogers; son, Jeff (Lynn) Rogers; daughter, Christy (Shane) Maynard; 6 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Jamie Kiley; brothers, G.D. Rogers, Rex Rogers, & Ted Rogers; and sister, Irene Bohannan.
