What is the Good G.R.I.E.F. (Giving Resources Individually and Enjoying Friends) program?

The Good G.R.I.E.F. program is a social support program that helps widows and widowers adjust to the loss of a spouse. Through this program, Memorial Park Funeral Homes hope to reinforce a sense of wholeness and purpose in those who may be feeling lost.

Often, a widowed person feels isolated, usually believing no one really understands how they feel. Because of this, they are commonly reluctant to get involved with new people or unfamiliar organizations. The Good G.R.I.E.F. program gives them the opportunity to be surrounded by people who may share similar feelings and experiences.

This program is both entertaining and educational with guest speakers on a variety of interesting topics. And attendees can feel comfortable knowing that Good G.R.I.E.F. speakers do not sell anything. Best of all, there are no fees or dues to participate. Good G.R.I.E.F. members are only responsible for meals or expenses.

Our director Billy Hendrix has directed a social grief support setting for widows/widowers for over 10 years in Gainesville/Hall County. We are honored to sponsor a program that provides comfort and socially involves widows/widowers in social settings. Our luncheons are every third Tuesday of each month.
