Mr. Gene Burch, 68
~Mr. Gene Burch, age 68, of Flowery Branch passed away Monday, September 19, 2016 at his residence with family.
Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, September 23, 2016 in the Chapel of Memorial Park South Funeral Home with interment following at Redwine United Methodist Church Cemetery. Rev. Warren Huddleston will officiate. The family will receive friends 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Thursday, September 22, 2016 at Memorial Park South Funeral Home.
Mr. Burch was born February 8, 1948 to Jay & Elloise Burch in Canton, Ohio. He was a member of 12 Stone Church in Flowery Branch and a former member of Redwine United Methodist Church, where he had taught Sunday School for many years. Mr. Burch was retired from General Motors and had been the manager of Common Grounds Restaurant in Flowery Branch for the last 14 years.
Mr. Burch is survived by his wife, Donna Burch of Flowery Branch; children, Amanda & Barry Storey of Flowery Branch, Lisa & Jesse Brooks of Lula, Dustin & Dannah Burch of Lawrenceville, Scott Gable of Oakwood, and Patrick Gable of Minnesota; 4 grandchildren, Destiny Brooks, Connor Brooks, Ava Burch, and Jayden Storey; brothers, Bruce & Sherry Burch of Kansas, Stewart Burch of Hampton, Ronnie Burch of Oakwood and Jerry Burch. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Dennis Burch.

Just learned of Gene's passing this morning. Have been out of town. What a good man, a good friend. Shared good times while working at GM. So proud of the fine man Gene became! We'll see him again one day! So sorry, Donna.
