Doug Whitmire was a large part of my growing up years at my parents cafe, Doug’s Drive In, as were all of the Whitmire brothers. Later in my life he and his entire family were part of our church family for many years. He will be missed by many. My children were also influenced by the Whitmire family at church. Doug and Pat being a big part of that at church in Sunday School and Vacation Bible school. As the saying goes “it takes a village” and I can proudly say the Whitmire family was a part of our village. Prayers are with Ms Pat and the family. My memories are good memories of the Whitmire family!

DOUG was my dad's brother and uncle to me. My dad Doyle had passed away when he was 44. DOUG AND DON were always looking out for me and always lead and guided me in the right direction. When I would stray the would let me know by that look in their eye and that mental kick in the rear that " boy ya better straighten up" .I'm thankful more than ever to have been blessed with men such as these to have had them as uncles.Doug will forever be remembered and also DON and love ya both and until we meet again, God bless and we will miss yas!!,chip

My grandfather was one in a million! He helped mold my brother and I to who we are today alongside our parents, David & Leslie and Meme. He instilled God in the center of our lives and taught us the importance of family. He was our rock and Meme is the glue to our family. My prayer for our family is to continue that love to our children and grandchildren with God in the center of it all. He also taught me how a man should treat his wife by his actions of 67 years of a blissful marriage, hence why I was picky and married a wonderful christian husband. My grandfather loved my husband like his own and always bragged how well I did. Grandaddy, your wife, your sons, grandchildren and great grandchildren will be forever grateful for the time we had with you and will miss you dearly. Can’t wait to get one of your bear hugs again one day. Until we meet again... Love your granddaughter, Christy PS: give Jesus & Uncle Scott a big hug from me! ❤️❤️❤️
