Arthur E. Poock

Arthur Edward Poock, age 83, of Flowery Branch, Georgia, passed away peacefully on January 2, 2026; surrounded by the love of his family.  He was born on March 4, 1942, and throughout his life he was known for his quiet strength, steady kindness and deep devotion to those he loved.

Arthur proudly served in the Army, beginning July 1960 and retired in January 1996, as Master Sargent, with the highest field rank of Captain.

For 54 beautiful years he was married to Shelley Fawn Poock.  Together they built a life filled with love, laughter, family gatherings and countless memories that will forever be cherished.  He leaves behind his wife, Shelley, his children Kenneth Poock, Crystal and Michael Devine, Janet and Jasin Palmer.  He was a loving grandfather to Makayla Devine, Chance Devine (Renea), Alexander Palmer, Chanell Devine and his one great grandchild Rylan Devine. Who all brought him so much joy.   His sisters and their spouses, Rita and Dean Rehpol, Judy and Charlie Mikesell, Dorthy and Richard Pratt, Pat McAlister. 

He was welcomed into heaven by his parents, Edward and Olive Poock.  Arthur will be remembered for his love for his family, his gentle spirit and the way he showed his care not through many words but through countless small acts of support.  His legacy lives on in the hearts and lives of everyone who knew him. 

The family would like to thank all who prayed, kind words and support during this time.  Celebration of Life Service will be held at Memorial Park Funeral Home on Saturday, January 17, 2026 at 2pm.  

In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to the funeral home for help with the funeral expenses.
