We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Aurel Ambarus, a cherished husband, devoted father, and loyal friend, who left us peacefully on February 8th, 2024, surrounded by his loved ones, after a courageous battle with cancer. 82, Aurel lived a life full of love, laughter, and unforgettable memories, leaving behind a legacy that will forever be treasured by those who had the privilege to know him.

Aurel Ambarus was born on April 2nd 1941 n Bacău Romania to Gheorghe and Elena Ambarus. 

From a young age, Aurel displayed an extraordinary ambition and passion for life, a trait that would define his entire life journey. Aurel career was marked by dedication and hard work, earning him respect and admiration from everyone that surrounded him.

In 1966, Aurel married the love of his life, Anica, and together they built a beautiful family, welcoming their children, Adrian, Antonio,and Aurel Ambarus Jr. (Lulu).

Aurel and his family embarked on a journey that would forever change the course of their lives in 1984, when they immigrated to the United States, initially settling in Chicago, Illinois. It was in this vibrant city that the family forged deep and lasting friendships, laying the foundation for their new life in America. Despite the challenges of adapting to a new country, their resilience and unity were unwavering.

In pursuit of the American dream, the family's quest for a place to call home led them to California. However, their journey did not end there. In 1987, after a meticulous search for the perfect environment, Aurel embarked on a long cross-country commute from California to Georgia. This journey was driven by his desire to provide a better future for his loved ones.

Ultimately, it was in Georgia that Aurel and his family found their sanctuary.

 In 1987, they made the decision to move, drawn by the promise of a community that resonated with their hopes and aspirations. This move marked the beginning of a new chapter in their lives, one filled with opportunities and new beginnings. A few years later, Aurel and his family adopted a fourth child, Megan Ambarus whom he inspired and loved dearly.

is legacy, however, will continue to live on, not only through the fond memories shared by friends and family but also through his cherished grandchildren, Ethan Ambarus and Tristan Ambarus who were welcomed into the world in the 2000s, bringing immense joy and purpose to their grandfather's years. Aurel took great pride in his role as a grandfather, imparting lessons of love, resilience, and integrity. He was a mentor, a guide, and a source of unconditional support for Ethan and Tristan, nurturing in them the qualities that he held dear.

Aurel was a family man at heart, always putting their needs above his own, guiding them with wisdom, and supporting them with unconditional love. Aurel’s home was filled with joy, open to friends and extended family, reflecting his generous spirit and warm hospitality.

Aurel Ambarus was known for his sense of humor, ability to light up any room he entered, and his profound kindness.  Despite his diagnosis, Aurel Ambarus faced cancer with remarkable strength and dignity, inspiring those around him with resilience. He remained positive, never losing his sense of humor or his hope for the future.

Aurel’s faith in God was a cornerstone of his life, guiding him through every challenge and joy with unwavering devotion. He lived his faith through actions, demonstrating love, compassion, and kindness in his daily interactions. During his healthy years, he was a regular attendee and active participant in his church community, Aurel found solace and strength in his relationship with God, often sharing his spiritual journey with those around him. His commitment to living a life reflective of his beliefs was evident in the way he treated others, always striving to embody the principles of faith, forgiveness, charity, and humility. Aurel’s trust in God's plan, even in his final days, was a source of comfort and inspiration to his family and friends, leaving a lasting impact on all who were blessed to know him.

Aurel Ambarus is survived by his loving spouse, Anica Ambarus; children, Adrian Ambarus, Aurel Ambarus JR., Antonio Ambarus, Megan Ambarus; his grandchildren, Ethan and Tristan Ambarus; and a host of family and friends who loved him dearly. 

In this time of profound sorrow, it is with great honor and love that Aurel's children stand united in support of each other and Anica. Their unwavering bond, a testament to the strength and unity instilled by Aurel, serves as a beacon of hope and comfort during this challenging time. The legacy of love and resilience that Aurel leaves behind continues to inspire his family, as they navigate through this period of grief with grace and togetherness.

A memorial service to celebrate Aurel Ambarus’s life will be held on February 10, 2024 at Memorial Park South Funeral Home, 4121 Falcon Pkwy, Flowery Branch, GA 30542 at 5:00p.m.  The Funeral Burial will take place February 11, 2024 at Memorial Park South Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. 

Aurel’s passing leaves an irreplaceable void in our lives, but his spirit and love will forever remain in our hearts. Our hearts are comforted by the assurance and promise of God’s Word found in Revelation 21:1-5 which reminds us of that glorious day when God Himself will come and make all things new. 

“And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.”
