Mr. Bobby Leon Merck, age 91 of Gainesville, Georgia passed away on Friday, April 3, 2026. He was born to the late Ernest Leon Merck and Clemmie Sarah White Merck on October 12, 1934 n Gainesville, Georgia.
Bobby was most interested in sharing his faith in Christ as the one and only way to eternal security in Heaven. He loved the fellowship with other believers, attending church, singing solo and in quartets and the choir.
As most people that knew him well would testify, he was very proud of his military service as a radar technician on aircraft which he performed while serving in Japan. His civilian career included television repair for Sears, and he retired from City Ice as the primary parts department employee. Bobby also worked as a highly skilled wedding photographer on weekends for a period of time. Bobby enjoyed spending time with family which he loved very much and will certainly be missed by them.
Above all his professional and personal achievements, Bobby’s greatest love was reserved for his family. He cherished every moment spent with them, and his absence leaves a void that can only be filled by the many warm memories he created.
Graveside service will be held on Wednesday, April 8, 2026 at 1:00 PM in Memorial Park Cemetery. Reverend Drewery Loggins will officiate the service.
Mr. Merck is preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Mary Merck.
He is survived by his son, Robert Merck of Gainesville; daughter, Tonya Leigh Aaron of Gainesville; sisters, Susan Merck of South Ga, Beverly Hulsey (John) of Clermont; brothers, Johnny Merck of Westminster, S.C., Joe Merck of Gainesville, and David Merck (Hope).
