Borbia Oreatia Perry was born on September 4, 1944, in Washington, DC, to Maggie and Shiver Williams. She answered the call to serve her country during the Vietnam Era, proudly serving in the United States Army before being honorably discharged.
Following her military service, Borbia pursued an education in Accounting. She went on to build a dedicated and accomplished career, working for over 20 years as a legal secretary. After retiring from that role, she continued working from home as a legal and medical transcriptionist, demonstrating her strong work ethic and commitment to excellence.
A devoted mother, Borbia was a single parent who worked tirelessly, often holding two jobs, to provide a stable and fulfilling life for her daughter. Her sacrifices, resilience, and unwavering determination were a testament to her deep love and commitment to family.
Borbia was a woman of extraordinary beauty, intelligence, strength, and grace. She was a true prayer warrior, steadfast in her faith and deeply committed to God. Her love for people was evident in every aspect of her life. Known affectionately as “Mama Barbie” to many and “Mother Perry” to others, she touched countless lives with her kindness, wisdom, and nurturing spirit.
Borbia is survived by her devoted daughter, Aisha Perry; her loving grandchildren, Esaias and Dominique; her precious great-grandchildren, Cohen, Santiago, and Makai; and her brother, Andre.
Her legacy of faith, strength, and love will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
“He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in Him will I trust.”
— Psalm 91:1–2
