Clara Mae (Mooney) Martin

Mrs. Clara Mae Mooney Martin, age 80, passed away on Friday, May 22, 2026, in Gainesville, Georgia. She was born on September 25, 1945 to the late Edgar and Mildred Mooney.

She was a beloved mother and grandmother, devoted friend, and faithful servant of the Lord,

Mrs. Martin was a beacon of love and warmth in her community. To her family, she was the absolute "best grandmother" anyone could ask for. Her home was a sanctuary of joy, and visits to Grandmother’s house were always filled with laughter, fun, and unforgettable memories that her family will cherish forever.

An avid gardener, Mrs. Martin, possessed a truly remarkable green thumb. She found great joy in nurturing life from the soil, and her beautiful, thriving plants were a reflection of the care and patience she brought to every aspect of her life.

Above all, Mrs. Martin loved the Lord and lived her faith out loud. She was a dedicated member of New Haven where she worshipped and grew in her faith.

A funeral service will be held in the Chapel at Memorial Park Funeral Home on Sunday, May 24, 2026, at 2:00 PM. Reverend Bobby Griffin will officiate the service. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday, May 24, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Memorial Park Funeral Home.

 Mrs. Martin is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Claude Martin; brothers, Harold Mooney, Bobby Mooney, and James Mooney.

She is survived by her son, Jerry Martin of Gainesville; granddaughters, Hanna Conner (Hunter) of Clermont, Madeline Sims (Joshua) of Gainesville; great-grandchildren, Parker Sikes, Piper Sikes, Lorelei Sims, Jack Sims; and sister, Flora Jane Black (Charlie) of Gainesville.
