Cindy Hart, age 76, of Gainesville, Georgia, passed away surrounded by the love of her family. She is now fully healed and at peace, leaving behind a legacy of compassion, strength, and unwavering devotion to those she loved.
Cindy was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joe Hart; her granddaughter, Addi Chastain; her parents, Dr. William Smith and Rita Smith; and her brother, Jim Godwin.
She is lovingly remembered by her daughters, Kristi (Benji Ladd) and Kathi Chastain; and her treasured grandchildren, Emery Ladd, Asher Chastain, Jesse Ladd, and Hadley Ladd. She is also survived by her siblings, Leigh Keener (Don) and Bruce Godwin (Kelly); sister-in-law, Teresa Godwin; and her nieces and nephews, Haley Collins, Shauna Godwin, Will Keener, Gabby Farah, and Kyle Godwin.
Cindy devoted her life to caring for others. As a nurse, she served with compassion and dedication, always putting the needs of others before her own. Her love extended far beyond her profession—she poured herself into raising her daughters, faithfully cared for her husband through his battle with Parkinson’s disease, and played an instrumental role in helping raise her grandson, Asher. Serving others wasn’t just something she did; it was who she was. Cindy and her husband also faithfully served their church, teaching Sunday school and caring for children in the nursery at Riverbend Church.
She will be remembered for her humor and her spirited, feisty personality that brought light and laughter to those around her. Cindy had a servant’s heart and a deep faith, and her family finds comfort in believing she was welcomed with the words, “Well done, my child”.
Cindy will be profoundly missed and forever loved.
