Dallis Elaine Nealy

Dallis Elaine Nealy, a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, passed away on March 30th, 2026 at the age of 89.  She was born to the late Vernon and Lottie (Spikes) Hodnett, in LaGrange, GA on November 17th, 1936.

Dallis will be remembered for her generosity, warmth and strength, her love of family, gardening and animals.  She graduated with a Degree in Nursing from Georgia Southwestern College in Americus, GA in 1958, and worked as an Oncology Nurse for many years at Mease Hospital in Dunedin, Florida before moving to Gainesville, GA.  She also was president of the Bay Bouquet Garden Club in Dunedin and won several awards for her stunning floral arrangements.  She dedicated her life to her family and serving others, always encouraging honesty, laughter and love.

She will be greatly missed.

Dallis was the beloved wife of the late Dr. Robert J. Nealy and is survived by her half-brother Morris Hodnett & (Laural Hodnett), and 3 children, Robert J. Nealy Jr & (Sally Nealy), Julie A. Nealy, Victor H. Nealy & (Glizell K. Nealy).  She had 3 grandchildren, Cory A. Borgerding & (Taylor Borgerding), Meranda Nealy and Colton Nealy, and 1 great grandchild, Knox A. Borgerding.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on May 2nd, 2026 at 2:00 pm  in the courtyard at The Lakes @ Gainesville Assisted Living Facility where she resided with her late husband and their beloved cat, Kitty B.
