Ms. Debra Kay Griffis, age 71, of Hoschton, passed away on May 6, 2026, at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta.

Ms. Griffis was born in Jackson, Mississippi, on August 22, 1954, to the late John Mathis and Mallie Holt. She retired as a Deputy Tax Assessor from the Hinds County Government, and was member of Morrison Heights Baptist Church of Mississippi.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Patrick Griffis, Sr.

She is survived by her sons, Patrick Griffis, Jr. (Katie), and Timothy Griffis; brothers, Lee and David Mathis; and her sister, Darlene Hill.
