Dieter E Jager

Mr. Dieter E. Jager, age 83 of Gainesville, passed away on Tuesday, February 24, 2026 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center after a brief illness.

No services will be held at this time. A ‘Celebration of Life’ will be held in the coming months.

Mr. Jager was born in Worms, Germany to the late Ernst & Frieda Jager. He was a Veteran of the United States Army – 82nd Airborne Division. Afterward, he spent his career as an electrical engineer with Ebasco, GE, and Siemens. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather “Papa” and friend to everyone he met. He loved living on Lake Lanier, fishing and being outdoors.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Valerie and Ernie Hall; grandchildren, Britney and Ashley; brother and sister-in-law, Benno and Erika Jager of Germany; sister-in-law, Rosi Jager of Germany; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Kaye Jager.
