Elease Burnett Obituary

Elease Ward Burnett, age 88, of Dahlonega, Georgia passed away peacefully on December 14, 2025. She was born on September 1, 1937, to the late John and Janie Ward.

Elease was a woman of unwavering faith. A steadfast Christian, she lived her life grounded in her love for the Lord, trusting His promises and reflecting His love through her actions. Her faith was not only spoken, but lived daily through service, perseverance, and devotion to her family.

Elease is preceded in death by her beloved husband, JC Burnett; her son, Ken Burnett; her sisters Geraldeane (JC) Carter, Ella Vee (Gene) Dyer, and Bonnie Ward; and her parents, John and Janie Ward.

She is survived by her loving daughter, Tammy (David) Kenimer; her daughter-in-law Brenda Burnett; her grandchildren, Angell (Derek) Lindeborg, Nick Burnett (Becky Marshall), Chris Collins (Todd Phillips), Dusty (Amanda) Kenimer, and Maggie (Hunter) Davidson; her great-grandchildren Faith (Matt) Blaisdell, Shawn (Isabelle) Lindeborg, Bailee Lindeborg, Kaley (Paul) Alessi, Blake Burnett (Kasey Simmons), Maddie Burnett, Dalton Kenimer, Tinley Kenimer, Tucker Kenimer, and Rhett Davidson; and her great-great-grandchildren, Parker Blaisdell, Elizabeth Blaisdell, Raylen Lindeborg, Brooks Lindeborg, Grayson Gaines, Elijah Burnett, Navea Burnett, Wyatt Alessi, and Logan Alessi. She is also survived by several beloved nieces and nephews.

Beyond her immediate family she was a caregiver for many others in the New Holland Community.

Elease made her home in Dahlonega, Georgia, where she poured her heart into the things she loved most—reading, canning, cooking for family and friends, gardening, and above all else, spending time with her family. Family was the very center of her core. She was never happier than when she was surrounded by those she loved. Watching her great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren play, laugh, and grow filled her heart with pride and joy.

She also had a deep love for the Atlanta Braves, faithfully following her team through every season. Watching the Braves was one of her simple joys. She never missed a chance to cheer them on.

Tough as nails, feisty, and funny, Elease had a strength that could not be shaken. She loved deeply and intentionally, giving of herself without reservation. Her caring spirit, resilience, and steadfast presence shaped generations, and her influence will be felt for years to come. Her life was a testimony of faith, strength, and unconditional love. While she will be deeply missed, her family finds comfort in knowing she is now at peace, reunited with loved ones.

The family will be receiving friends on Wednesday, December 17, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Memorial Park Funeral Home. With a service to follow immediately after. Interment to follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
