Elizabeth McGee Hewell

Mrs. Elizabeth McGee Hewell, age 79, passed away on Wednesday, January 28, 2026 in Gainesville, Georgia. She was born to the late Calvin McGee and Ida McGee on May 19, 1946 in Gwinnett County.

A funeral service will be held in the Chapel at Memorial Park Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 4, 2026 at 1:00 PM. Reverend Eddie Hunter and Reverend Tift Maddox will be officiating the service. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at the Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 3, 2026 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM.

Mrs. Hewell is preceded in death by her parents; late husband, Lester Westbrooks, sisters, Virginia Dodd, Evelyn Dodd; and great-granddaughter, McKenzie Grindle.

She is survived by her husband, Nelson Hewell of Alto, GA; daughters, Donna (Mitchell) Payne of Demorest, GA, Teresa (Aaron) Justus of Alto, GA, Charlotte (Richard) Bevers of Hartwell, GA, Crystal Dodd of Westminster, SC; siblings, Mevelyn Bounds, Clara Jean Hunter, Martha Nell McGee, Kenneth (Mary) McGee; grandchildren, Marie Payne, Jeff Jackson, Darrin Jackson, Amanda Shortt, Ashley Jaramillo, Dustin Fowler; and great-grandchildren, Kylie Lowery, Landen Payne, Christian Jaramillo, Ethan Payne, Brady Jackson, Aubrey Jackson, Mason Shortt; step kids, Wanda Garmany and Nelson Hewell, Jr.
