Mrs. Ella Arnold, of Oakwood, Georgia, passed away peacefully on March 24, 2026, surrounded by her loving family and caregivers.
Ella was a proud mother and dedicated homemaker who faithfully supported her husband during his service to our great country. She deeply loved her family and treasured every moment spent with them. Through her strength and steady presence, she helped guide and shape the lives of her children and grandchildren. Ella enjoyed traveling, taking day trips, antiquing, finding great deals at Sam’s Club, and tending to her flowers and garden.
Born on April 3, 1937, in Demorest, Georgia, Ella was the daughter of Quinton E. Ferguson and Etta C. Spencer Ferguson. She was raised in Demorest with her nine siblings, and attended Tallulah Falls School.
Ella was preceded in death by her loving and devoted husband of 62 years, Jimmy R. Arnold. She was also preceded in death by her parents, her two brothers, and four of her seven sisters.
Ella is survived by her children, Denise (Joe) Jones and Steve (Sheryl) Arnold; her grandchildren, who lovingly called her “Juju”: Zack Arnold and family (Rebecca, Ella, and Fischer), Julie Williams and family (Matthew, Eli, and Ava), and Dusty Arnold (Samantha); step-granddaughter Jessica Martin and family (Cecil, along with several great- and great-great-grandchildren); as well as many beloved extended family members and friends who will cherish her memory.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, March 27, 2026 at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia. Visitation will take place on Thursday, March 26 2026, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Memorial Park Funeral Home, 2030 Memorial Park Drive, Gainesville, Georgia 30504. The service will be officiated by Pastor Bert Arnold.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to her devoted caregivers—Rosemary, Sarah, and Esther—and to Inspire Hospice and Palliative Care of Gainesville, Georgia, for the compassionate care they provided during Ella’s most challenging days. She remained humble and deeply appreciative throughout.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in memory of Jimmy and Ella Arnold to the Gary Sinise Foundation (https://www.garysinisefoundation.org) or Tunnel to Towers Foundation (https://t2t.org), honoring their steadfast support of our nation’s veterans.
