Ernest Lee Moore, Jr (Papa)

Mr. Ernest Lee Moore Jr. (Papa), age 81, passed away on Thursday, November 13, 2025 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville, Georgia. He was born to the late Ernest Lee Moore, Sr. and Helen Rogers Moore on March 15, 1944 in Gainesville, Georgia.

We are heartbroken to share the loss of our Papa, he was a faithful Christian, loving husband of 63 years, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. To know him was to love him. He was a friend to all, he loved all animals and people. He was a talented artist and singer, an incredible outdoors man and gifted storyteller. He will be greatly missed by all.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, November 16, 2025 at 3:00 PM in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home. Reverend Barbara Borders and Reverend Wendall Jordan will officiate the service. Interment will follow at Alta Vista Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends on Saturday, November 15, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Memorial Park Funeral Home.

Mr. Moore is preceded in death by his parents and Sister, Ginny.  

He is survived by his wife, Lilaree Moore of Oakwood, children, Lee (Janie) Moore of Flowery Branch, Shane Moore of Gainesville, Tyrin (Rodney) Clark of Gainesville, Nicole (Joe) Baxter of Gainesville; sister, Sue Anderson of Gainesville; grandchildren, Jessica Hardin, Amber Woodfield, Zach Baxter, Cameron Montgomery, Haley Ethridge, Lance Clark, Dana Foy, great-grandchildren, Helen, Jace, Anna, Monroe, Robert, Jake, Ruby, Julia; honorary great grandchild, Liam.

We greatly appreciate the staff at Northeast Georgia Medical Center and all the Hospice nursing staff.
