Mr. Eusebio “Cheeto” Avila-Aguayo, age 32, passed away on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, in Gainesville, Georgia. He was born on July 26, 1993, in Champaign-Urbana, Illinois, to Michael and Maria Aguayo.
Affectionately known and loved by many as “Cheeto” and “Xavier or Chevito" by his family. Eusebio had a deep love for music and enjoyed playing instruments. He was a Gainesville City Red Elephant graduate and a big Band Geek. He was known for his wicked sense of humor, bringing laughter to those around him, and for his tender heart—a big softie beneath a tough, grizzly bear exterior. He fought colon cancer with strength and determination, going down swinging, and found comfort and peace in the words of Ephesians. He was completely surrounded by loved ones until his last breath.
A Christian service will be held in the Chapel at Memorial Park Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at 3:00 PM. Pastor Frank and Minister Stephen will officiate the service.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, May 15th, 2026, at Prince of Peace Catholic Church at 11:00 AM (EST), with Father Ignacio Morales officiating. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 12th, 2026, and Wednesday, May 13th, 2026, both days from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
