Evey Earl "Buddy" Doan

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved father, Evey Earl “Buddy” Doan, who passed away on April 15, 2026, at the age of 77.

Born in Detroit, Michigan, he began his career at Massey Ferguson and later continued with Stanley Doors and Windows. In 1993, his career brought him to Georgia, where he served as Plant Manager for Peachtree Windows and Doors manufacturing. He spent the early years of his retirement caring for his wife of over 40 years, Kathleen (Golds) Doan, until her passing in 2010.

He was a proud and loving father to Laura DeVoie (Tom DeVoie), Shauna Hamby (Steve Hamby), and Brian Doan (Jaime Doan). He was also a cherished grandfather to nine grandchildren: Cady Hamby, Zachary DeVoie, Hunter Doan, Meghan Hamby, Blane McFarland, Brody Doan, Kylah McFarland, Madison Doan, and Landry Doan.

For the past 15 years, he shared his life with his devoted partner, Martha Willoughby, in Monroe, Georgia.

Known for his quick wit and sometimes intimidating presence, he will be remembered for his deep love of family, his pride in his service as a Marine and love of country, his enjoyment of good cigars and tequila, and the many friendships he built over the years.

He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
