Gail Lochmandy Obituary

Gail Marlene Lochmandy (née Beebe), age 77, of Murrayville, Georgia (formerly of Ashland County, Ohio), passed away peacefully on June 1, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.

Born in Berea, Ohio, on July 23, 1948, Gail was the oldest daughter of Ralph and Mary (Havorka) Beebe, both of whom preceded her in death. She was a graduate of Mapleton High School and had the distinguished honor of being selected as the Ashland County Dairy Princess in 1966. She also earned Associate Degrees in Business Management and Computer Programming.

Gail shared a wonderful 41-year marriage with her husband, Scott Robert Lochmandy, who survives her. She is also survived by her children: Belinda (Jeff) Jacob and their children Christian, Tommy, Gabriella, Zachary, and Bernadette; Heidi Carroll and her children Eric and Courtney; Melissa (Dan) Lance and their children Nathaniel, Kaitlyn, Trinity, and Olivia; Buffy Lochmandy and her children Nicholas and Caroline; Mindy (Mark) Hammer and their son Andrew; Kelly Chance and her children Kaylee, Austin, Emma, and Carolynn; Brian Gerwig; and Benjamin (Sierra) Lochmandy and their children Braydon, Ashton, Oliver, Fin, and Millie. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren; her siblings, Jennifer Clark and Gerry Beebe; several nieces and nephews; and extended family.

Gail dedicated many years of service to the State of Georgia through her work with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation. She began her career as a part-time Investigative Assistant assigned to an undercover drug investigation unit before spending a brief period working as a technician in the Regional Crime Lab. She later became Office Manager of the GBI Region 8 Regional Office, a position she held until her retirement in September 2025. Throughout her career, she received numerous awards recognizing her outstanding service, professionalism, and dedication.

Gail’s many hobbies included couponing, at which she was a master shopper, cross-stitching, sewing her own clothing, and reading. She was an avid reader who devoured countless books each month.

Gail also loved to cook and was an exceptionally creative home chef. Her family was always well fed, and her homemade pizza could rival that of any restaurant or pizza chain.

Gail lived life to the fullest and was beloved by everyone who met her. She was held in high esteem by family, friends, and colleagues alike and will be deeply missed. Possessing a dynamic personality, sharp wit, and remarkable resourcefulness, Gail had a unique ability to navigate any situation while making those around her feel cared for, supported, and loved.
