Glenn Loyd (Papa) Berry

Mr. Glenn Loyd (Papa) Berry, age 75, passed away on Friday, February 27, 2026 in Gainesville, Georgia. He was born to the late Newt Berry and Violet Smith Berry on March 15, 1950 in Dahlonega, Georgia. He had been a resident of Lumpkin County all of his life. He was employed at Gold Creek for 40 plus years.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, March 1, 2026 in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home at 3:00 PM. Reverend Terry Hood, Reverend Zach Smith, and Reverend Danny Kastner will officiate the service. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday, February 27, 2026 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and Saturday, February 28, 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 5:00 to 8:00 PM at Memorial Park Funeral Home.

Mr. Berry is preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Janice Berry; son, George Nelson Berry; three sisters and two brothers.

He is survived by his sister, Helen Norsworthy of Dahlonega; brothers, Charlie Berry of Dahlonega, Robert Berry of Jesup; care taker, Ashley Hood of Dahlonega; and a number of nieces and nephews.
