Harriet Rose Adelman

Harriet Rose Adelman, 92, of Lawrenceville, GA, passed away on February, 10, 2026 quietly after a short illness.  She was a long-time resident of Rockland County, NY. 

Harriet was born on July 23, 1933 to Harold Schreibersdorf and Clelia Capaldo in New York, NY.

On May 20, 1956, Harriet married Marvin Adelman in the Bronx, NY. Harriet and Marvin went on to have six children, Sheryl Wayne, Nathan Adelman, Karen McIntosh, David Adelman, Mark Adelman and Jacob Adelman.

Harriet worked at Bradlee’s Department Store in New City, NY for over 20 years. She loved to Ballroom Dance. Her greatest joy was spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren as well as her friends.

In 1991, Harriet and Marvin retired and moved to Lawrenceville, Georgia to enjoy the weather and be closer to their family.

Harriet was predeceased by her husband of 66 years, Marvin Adelman and her sister Dorothy Schreibersdorf. She is survived by her 6 children, 15 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and her siblings Marilyn Bender, Jerrold Schreibersdorf and Giulia Greenberg.

A graveside service will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery on Sunday, February 15, 2026 at 11:00am.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to any organization the giver feels strongly about.
