Harry Parks Jones

Mr. Harry Parks Jones, 91, of Oakwood passed away Wednesday, May 30, 2023 at his residence following a sudden illness.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, June 4, 2023 in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home. Rev. Mike Taylor will officiate. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Memorial Park Funeral Home Sunday, June 4th from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m.

Born June 8, 1931 in Forsyth County, he was the son of the late Marion and Hazel Gunter Jones. He was retired from Keebler Cookie Company where he was a salesman. Mr. Jones was a proud Veteran of the United States Army where he served in the Korean War. He was also a member of the local Korean Veteran’s Association.  Mr. Jones attended Blackshear Place Baptist Church for 40 years and was a Deacon. For the past 10 years he was a member of Central Baptist Church.  

In addition to his parents, Mr. Jones was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Nell Bennett Jones; son, Paul Jones; brother, Dennis Jones and sister, Debbie Cole.

Mr. Jones is survived by his son and daughter in law, David and Katherine Jones of Colbert, GA; daughter, Beth Jones of Flowery Branch; son and daughter in law, Brian and Sally Jones of Chestnut Mountain; grandson, Jarad Jones; granddaughter, Amanda Jones; grandson, Michael Jones (Michelle); granddaughter, Emily Bolton (Noah); five great grandchildren; brothers and sisters in law, Gene and Margaret Jones of Canton, Roger and Paula Jones of Flowery Branch and a number of other loving relatives.
