Helen Presley Peek passed away peacefully at the age of 81 on April 24, 2026 at home in Gainesville, GA, after a long-term battle with the complications of kidney disease. She was born on September 29, 1944 in Gainesville GA and was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend.
She was the daughter of Jesse Bill Presley and Bernice Crowe Presley. She is predeceased by her sister, Sandra Jean Kiser. She is survived by her husband, Marvin Lee Peek, (married 52 years) and children: daughter, Kirsten Fowler, and step-sons, Robert Peek (wife Becky) and Ricky Peek. Grandchildren: Kaley Peek, Seth Peek, Rosemary Hancock, and grand-furbabies, Zeke, Tucker, and Dobie. Multiple great-children, nieces and nephews.
Growing up in New Holland, Helen graduated from Gainesville High School in 1962 then completed the Nursing Program at Georgia Baptist in 1965 before attending Anesthesia School in Charleston, WV. She went to work for Northeast Georgia Anesthesia Group working in the OR of the NEGA Medical Center as a nurse anesthetist for 18 years before moving on to work as a locum tenens for 12 years retiring in 2004.
Helen loved cross-stitching, cooking, family party planning and reading. She was always willing to help anyone, even opening her doors and offering temporary housing for family friends in need. She loved her family and friends and has left an amazing legacy of love. She will be missed.
In lieu of flowers, donations to St Jude, Evelyn’s Place (animal rescue), Til Valhalla, Wounded Warrior Project or other such programs that pay it forward would be appreciated.
A private Celebration of Life for family and close friends will be held at a later date.
