Helena Bozena (Zysk) Zablocki

Mrs. Helena Bozena (Zysk) Zablocki, age 69, of Gainesville, Georgia, passed away Friday, April 24, 2026, at home after listening to the Polish Mass for that day, while she and her son prayed the rosary together. .

Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, April 29th, 2026, at 10:30 AM at St. Michael Catholic Church with entombment to follow in Alta Vista Cemetery Mausoleum. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 29th, 2026, for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Helena was born in Lomza Poland on February 19, 1957. She was the daughter of the late Tadeusz Stanislaw Zysk and Boleslawa Serfinska Zysk. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Zbigniew Zablocki.

Helena was a beloved wife, mother and devoted child of God. She was an immigrant who came to this country and lived the American Dream. Life was difficult at times, but she made the best of it beside her late husband Zbigniew for many years to raise a family. She was a nurse for twenty-five years before retiring, during all those years she displayed her faith, compassion and patience to all those she encountered.

After moving to Georgia in the 1990’s with the family, she worked tirelessly to help both her children adapt to a new home far away from the immediate family in New York, while also herself adapting to the culture shock of the southern hospitality experience. Though she felt she was struggling to communicate, many found her Polish accent endearing and quite fascinating here in Georgia.

Helena is survived by her son, David Zablocki and her daughter Janet Zablocki.
