Illa (England) Myers-Wilkes

Mrs. Illa Myers-Wilkes, age 93, of Talmo passed away March 13, 2024 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center – Braselton, surrounded by her family.

Funeral Services will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, March 28, 2024 in the Chapel of Memorial Park South Funeral Home.  Rev. Dave Channell will officiate.  The family will receive friends 1:00 – 2:00 p.m., Thursday, March 28, 2024 at Memorial Park South Funeral Home. 

Mrs. Wilkes was born May 17, 1930 to the late Homer & Susan Mae Marshall England in Gainesville.  A member of Hopewell Baptist Church, she enjoyed camping and cooking. Mrs. Myers worked as a Beautician at Polly’s Beauty Shop and was a Library Aid for the Hall County School System. 

Mrs. Wilkes is survived by her husband, Elmer Wilkes of Flowery Branch; son & daughter-in-law, Homer & Renee Myers of Talmo; daughter, Sidney Wyvonne Estes of St. Simon’s Island; grandchildren, Ashley & Tisha Myers of Gainesville and Britt & Kirby Myers of Key West, Florida; great-grandchildren, Ana Myers of Gainesville and Tristan Myers of Key West, Florida; and siblings, Gene England of Talmo, Betty Roberts of Gainesville and Ruby Nell Walls of Gainesville. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dean Myers; and siblings, Gerald England, Lamar England, Laverne Higgs, & Mildred Ables.
