Jackie Thomas Brock

Mr. Jackie Thomas Brock, age 82, of Flowery Branch passed away peacefully in his sleep on Sunday, April 12, 2026 at The Oaks of Braselton.

Funeral Services will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 15, 2026 at Dunagan’s Chapel United Methodist Church with interment following in the church cemetery.  Rev. Kevin Rutland will officiate.  The family will receive friends 5:00 – 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 14, 2026 at Memorial Park South Funeral Home.

Born June 14, 1943 to the late James Roscoe & Mildred (Griffin) Brock in Gainesville, he worked for J.D. Jewell, Inc. in the late 1960s to early 70s.  While still employed with J.D. Jewell he was growing his poultry farming business, expanding to two locations.  He took great pride in his flock and properties.  His work ethic was praiseworthy.

Mr. Brock was born and raised in the Methodist faith.  He was a member of Dunagan’s Chapel United Methodist Church.  While he was not a regular church-goer, he was an avid Bible reader and spoke of his faith often.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Brock was preceded in death by his brothers James Brock, Johnny Brock, and Gerald Brock; brother-in-law, George Rutland, and sister-in-law, Evelyn Brock.

Mr. Brock is survived by daughters, Judi Souther (Jackie) and Lori Skipper (Mike);  grandchildren, Justin Souther (Rachael), Kaycie Barnes (Alex Aiken), Logan Souther, Evan Souther, Aaron Skipper, and Enslie Skipper; great-grandchildren, Wyatt Aiken and Izzie Aiken; sisters, Marilyn Rutland, Janie Brock, Karen Griffin (Dwight), Lauren Bracewell, and Sheree Brock; brothers, Randall Brock (Joann), and Danny Brock (Gelaine), and a host of beloved nieces and nephews.
