Janie Bryant McDonald passed away peacefully, with her family by her side, on May 16, 2026. A private family service is planned for Friday May 22, 2026, at Redwine Methodist Church. Rev. Justin Arnold will officiate the service.
Janie was born on January 20, 1940, to the late Toy and Aline Bryant. Her remains will be placed in Georgia National Cemetery adjacent to the remains of her husband of 63 years, Wallis McDonald.
Janie was a lady of strong Christian Faith that provided the foundation for her life, her household, and her four children. She is survived by sons, Wayne McDonald (Gennie), Tim McDonald (Kim), Scott McDonald (Mary Ann); daughter, Lynne Bowers (Patrick). Janie’s beacon of Faith, Love, and Kindness will continue to shine through her family, including her grandchildren, Mitchell McDonald, Jana Amber, Tara Seabolt, Tilly Steele, Heather Parra, Cortney McDonald, Marissa Bowers, Joel Bowers, Amy Parks, and nine great grandchildren.
The family wishes to thank Grady Carlisle, Kathy Key, Dorothy Cannon, Virginia Benefield, and Donna Lester, for their kindness and friendship given to our beloved mother.
