Janie Marie West

Beloved mother, wife, sister, and Nana, Janie Marie West, of Braselton, passed away Wednesday, April 15, 2026, surrounded by her family.
 
Janie was born in August 1958 in Gary, West Virginia. She earned a degree in Electrical Engineering from West Virginia University and, upon graduating, began her career with Texas Instruments in Tennessee, where she met her husband. She went on to build a tremendous 40-year career while raising her two children. 
 
In her last few years, Janie deeply enjoyed retirement, embracing the opportunity to volunteer, spend more time with loved ones, and welcome her granddaughter, whose birth brought her immeasurable joy. Becoming Nana was one of her greatest blessings, and she treasured every moment in that role.
 
Known for her hardworking, persevering, generous, and independent spirit, Janie touched the lives of many. Her presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her, but her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
 
She was preceded in death by her parents, Diana and Jack West.
 
Janie is survived by her loving husband, David Rose; her children, Daniel (Taylor) Rose and Jessica Rose (Steven Wagoner); her siblings, John West, Joanie (Joe) Tolnay, and Joy (Donnie) Meister; and her cherished granddaughter, Sydney Rose, who brought her immense joy.
 
The family will hold a celebration of life on Saturday, May 30, at their residence in Braselton.
