John William Hunnicutt

Mr. John William Hunnicutt, age 83, passed away on Friday, May 22, 2026 in Blue Ridge, Georgia. He was born to the late William and Louis Hunnicutt on September 21, 1942 in Atlanta, Georgia.

After serving 4 years in the navy, he worked for Southern Bell in Gainesville, Ga. After retiring from there he went into law enforcement, which he loved. He spent 19 years serving the public-10 years in Hall County and 9 years in Jackson until retiring and moving to Blue Ridge.

A graveside service will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery on Thursday, May 28, 2026 at 11:00 AM. Reverend Drewery Loggins will be officiating the service.

He is preceded in death by his parents; and the mother of his children, Sylvia June (Watkins) Hunnicutt.

He is survived by his spouse, Brenda Hunnicutt of Blue Ridge, GA; children, Marie (Chris) MacDougall of North Carolina, David (Kim) Hunnicutt of Maysville, GA; grandchildren, Ross McDaniel, Katie McDaniel, Zack Hunnicutt, Makayla Hunnicutt; and stepchildren, Adam, Ricky, Misty, Rochelle, and Brandy.

Memorial Park Funeral Home, 2030 Memorial Park Drive, Gainesville, Georgia 30504 is in charge of the arrangements.
