Joseph John Matthews “Joe” age, 58, of Gainesville, Georgia, passed away Friday, December 19, 2025.

Joseph John Matthews “Joe” was born on January 28th, 1967, in Richmond, VA. He lived a life marked by service, honor, dedication, and, most of all his love for his family. Joining the U.S Air Force right out of high school as a Journeyman “Vehicle Body Maintenance”, where he served for ten years. Joe was stationed in Sembach, Germany, for most of his service tenure in support of Operation Desert Shield/Storm, where he later completed his term of service and retired from the USAF with multiple service ribbons and medals. Joe’s USAF service would serve him well as he became a Master Auto Body Technician in his civilian life.

He was a man of many hobbies and passions. Joe loved his shooting sports and everything with a motor. His sons would later fall in love with the same passions and end up pursuing careers in those fields; without his mentorship and guidance, it wouldn’t have been possible. But most of all, his true passion was being on his

Harley, which he shared with his wife Alyson, and it became a lifestyle that formed an unbreakable bond and grew their family tenfold.

Joe was known for his kind nature, integrity, and sense of humor. All of which have been imprinted on everyone who had the pleasure to get to know him. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His memory will be forever treasured by his friends and family.

His memory and love will be carried on by his wife, Alyson. His brothers and spouse, Steve and John “Doodle”, and Amy. His sons and daughters-in-law, Brian and Emi, Kai and Bre, and Corey O’Kelly. His laughter and love will be cherished, loved, and missed by his grandchildren, Ryder, Axel, Aurora, Stella, and Aro. He will also be missed greatly by his Framily as well as other friends and family.
