Judith Cail Hammond, lovingly known as Judy, passed away peacefully at her home in the Village at Deaton Creek in Hoschton, Georgia, on December 27, 2023. She was 79 years old.
Judy was born on July 16, 1944, in Fayetteville, North Carolina. She later became a longtime resident of Savannah, Georgia, where she built a life centered on family, love, and devotion to those closest to her.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 42 years, Roger S. Hammond.
Judy was the proud mother of three children: Patricia Bolen Bonner, William Kenneth Bolen, Jr., who preceded her in death and is survived by his wife, Vicki Bolen; Michael Cail Bolen, who also preceded her in death and is survived by his wife, Kim Almers Bolen.
She was a devoted grandmother to six grandchildren: Christopher Bolen, Joshua Bolen, Kenneth Lee Bolen (deceased), Spencer Bolen Shew, Katherine Elizabeth “Katie” Bolen, and Jamie Bonner Jamieson.
Judy was also blessed with six great-grandchildren: Mac Bolen, Ryder Bolen, Asher Bolen, Carter Bolen, Grace Jamieson, and David Jamieson.
She will be remembered for her love of family, her quiet strength, and the lasting impact she had on the lives of those who knew her.
Judith Cail Hammond was laid to rest at Greenwich Cemetery in Savannah, Georgia.
