Memorial Park South Funeral Home announces the death of Mr. Kenneth Herman Jones, age 83, of Gainesville who entered rest on Monday, June 8, 2026, at his residence, surrounded by family.
A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, June 13, 2026 at Memorial Park South Cemetery. Jimmie Wilson will officiate.
He worked for many years at ICI paints in Atlanta as an Inventory Specialist and at Atlanta Box Factory as a Purchasing Agent. He retired from Henry County Government as a Buyer.
He loved antique cars and owned three, a 1917 Ford Model-T, a 1928 Ford Model-A, and a 1935 Ford. His father’s Ford Galaxy meant a lot to him. He enjoyed driving his cars, tinkering with them, and going to car shows. He was a member of several car clubs.
Mr. Jones had a lifelong enjoyment of listening to all kinds of music, especially bluegrass. As a child, he spent hours listening to music on his record player. On Saturday nights he listened to the Grand Ole Opry on the radio. He preferred old time music over current hits. He had a large collection of CD’s.
Mr. Jones was a quiet, reserved man who loved his family. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Judy Parkman Jones of Gainesville; his son, Randy Jones of Flowery Branch; daughter, Cara Morrison of Norcross; and sister, Karon Taylor of Cumming. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Cam Jones, Addie Jones, Madalynn Morrison, and Elias Morrison.
