Kevin C Wright 1965 - 2026
Kevin Charles Wright of Gainesville, GA, passed into his heavenly home on Tuesday, April 21,2026 surrounded by his loving family after an almost 6 year, bravely fought, battle with Multiple Myeloma.
Kevin was born in Gainesville, Georgia to Larry and Cheryl (Fair) Wright. He attended Riverbend Elementary School and North Hall High School where he played trumpet in the North Hall Marching Band and the Symphonic Band.
He graduated from Southern Poly Technical Institute in Marietta in 1986, with a degree in Electrical Engineering. While there he was a member of Tau Alpha Pi National Honor Society and elected to Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges. He was quickly hired by Southern Bell and later went on to work for AT&T where he retired in 2021.
Kevin is survived by his wife of 32 years Amy (Fuchs) Wright and his daughters Erin (Will) Arndt and Katie Wright (fiance Alex Smith) as well as his parents, Larry and Cheryl Wright.
Kevin grew up attending New Holland Baptist Church. After moving to Atlanta, he attended First Baptist Atlanta where he played guitar in Single Adult 1 Sunday School. It was there he met and fell in love with Amy. Moving back to Gainesville after their marriage, they became active in Lanier Hills Church where Kevin played guitar in the praise band for 15 years and also led the youth worship team. He was a member of the worship band at 12 Stone Hamilton Mill, First Baptist Buford, and Christ Place Church.
Other than playing guitar and bass, Kevin taught himself to play the harmonica while sitting in traffic on his way to and from work in Atlanta! He enjoyed fishing, traveling, being with friends, and most of all trying new foods. He loved entertaining people with humor or food, was always the life of the party and will be missed! Slainte, my friends!
