Kurt Wayne Martin of Gainesville, GA, beloved father, husband, brother, and friend, passed away at home at the age of 63 on March 10, 2026.
Born in Silver Springs, Maryland, Kurt built a life defined by dedication, resilience, and an unwavering commitment to his family. He was known for his strong work ethic, his entrepreneurial spirit, and his deep belief in the promise of the American dream.
Throughout his professional life, Kurt worked as a mortgage banker, lender, broker, and entrepreneur. He helped thousands of families achieve the milestone of home ownership, including many who knew him personally. In addition to his work in finance and real estate, he co-owned an advertising company and managed residential property rentals. He took great pride in building opportunities for others and in creating stability for those he loved most.
Kurt had a lifelong passion for the water and anything with an engine. Some of his happiest moments were spent boating, where he found peace, adventure, and the simple joy of time shared with family and friends. He had a natural ability to make everyday moments memorable — whether it was a day on the lake, a spirited conversation about sports, or a spontaneous phone call just to check in.
In his younger years, Kurt was an avid go-cart racer and soccer player and later encouraged his children to pursue athletics and personal growth with the same enthusiasm. He believed deeply in perseverance and instilled in his family the importance of hard work, determination, and confidence.
Those who knew Kurt will remember his warm and teasing sense of humor. He had a unique way of connecting with people — often through lighthearted jokes, encouragement, or simply being present when it mattered most. He was a man who stayed engaged in the lives of those he cared about, never hesitating to reach out, offer advice, or share a laugh.
A man of Christian faith, Kurt approached life with strength and optimism even during challenging times. He worked tirelessly throughout his life, at times holding multiple jobs and pursuing entrepreneurial ventures, always focused on providing opportunity and stability for his children.
Above all else, Kurt was devoted to his family. His greatest pride was in the lives his children built and the values he was able to pass on to them. His legacy lives on in their perseverance, their work ethic, and their commitment to living life fully and faithfully.
He is survived by his wife Fatima Martin, his children, Dylan Martin (Addison) and Lauren Martin; his father, William Martin; his brother, Scott Martin (Susan); his sister, Patricia Cox; the mother of his children; Michelle Macdonald, as well as extended family members and many dear friends whose lives he touched. He is preceded in death by his mother, Linda Martin.
Kurt will be remembered for his laugh, his generous spirit, his humor, his determination, and the lasting impact he made on the lives of all who knew him. His presence will be deeply missed, but his influence will continue to guide and inspire those who loved him.
The family will receive visitors on March 23, 2026 from 11-2PM at Memorial Park Funeral Home in Gainesville, GA immediately followed by a chapel funeral service and graveside honors.
